SSA began as one man's chartered accountancy practice in New Delhi. Years of managing his clients' finances taught Sanjay Kumar Gupta to recognise opportunity early, first in public markets and then in land. Everything that followed grew from that same judgement.
"I started a practice in 1993 with one belief: that trust is earned in the details. That belief has guided every building we have put up and every rupee we have invested since."
For three decades our clients have trusted us with their most difficult financial questions. We have tried to bring the same care to our own decisions: buying land we understand, building assets we intend to keep, and investing alongside people we respect. Today my sons carry that work forward into new asset classes and new technologies, and the standard has not changed.
Every business at SSA has grown the same way. We establish it, put the right team in place to run it, and then move early into the next opportunity we have identified, always under the family's leadership.
The practice is founded in New Delhi. Advising clients on their finances gives early insight into which businesses will grow, and the family begins investing in listed Indian equities.
With the practice established and run by a strong team, the family moves into real estate: aggregating land early in Delhi NCR's growth corridors and developing it as demand arrives.
As India's startup ecosystem takes shape, the family identifies private markets as its next frontier. It builds a dedicated investment team and backs founders directly, bringing the diligence of the practice to early-stage companies.
To widen its reach without diluting focus, the family backs specialist managers as an LP across venture capital, venture debt and public markets, learning each strategy from the inside.
With conviction built over six years, the family becomes sponsor and GP of its own SEBI-registered funds, one for each asset class: Seafund, SG Real Estate and SG Equity.
The land bank has matured in locations where demand for quality stays is rising. Rather than sell, the family builds boutique hotels on its own parcels with established operating partners, turning held land into long-term income.
Each business now runs with its own team under the family's leadership. We are expanding on three fronts: a suite of funds across asset classes, real estate and hospitality projects at scale, and new-age ventures.
We do the work properly, whether or not anyone is checking.
Whatever we do, we do to perfection, down to the last detail.
We study deeply and never rush into what is fashionable.
Once we commit, we commit fully, and we stay.
We work only with the best, and stay useful long after the cheque.
